Brown Gravy Hamburger Stew
Hamburger Stew:
1 lb. ground beef
1 medium carrot (diced)
1 stalk celery (diced)
½ round onion (diced)
4 oz tomato sauce
4 Tbsp. brown gravy seasoning
¾ cup beef broth
¼ tsp. garlic salt (optional)
dash of pepper
- In a medium sauce pan at medium/high heat, brown the ground beef until well done.
- Drain excess fat. Reminder: Never drain fat into the sink drain. Drain fat into an empty jar or can. Seal tightly and dispose with trash.
- Dice the carrot, celery and onion.
- Add diced vegetables to ground beef and sauté at medium heat.
- Continue to sauté the vegetables until they turn slightly translucent.
- Add the tomato sauce, brown gravy seasoning and beef broth to the mixture. Stir slowly until sauce thickens.
- Season with ¼ tsp. garlic salt (optional) and dash pepper.
- Simmer on low for 5 minutes, stirring slowly to prevent burning on bottom.
- Serve over mash potatoes or rice.
